How to apply to a French university while residing in Kuwait?
The procedure depends on the nature of studies.
Applying to a French University (1st and 2nd year of a Bachelor’s degree): Request for Preliminary Admission (DAP)
Students holding a foreign High School diploma wishing to register for the 1st or 2nd year at the university must file a Request for Preliminary Admission (DAP).
Applicants for a new registration for the 1st or 2nd year at a French university must COMPLETE THE WHITE FILE (“DOSSIER BLANC”) from November 15th, 2016 and return it to the Campus France Office in Kuwait before January 22th, 2017.
Furthermore, you must take a French Knowledge Test (TCF-DAP). The TCF-DAP takes place in February every year. Candidates holding a DELF (level B2) or a DALF (levels C1 and C2) are exempted from the TCF-DAP.
Foreign students (including European students) are invited to apply through the Post-Baccalaureate Admission process if they are seeking to enter the first year of higher education in a university not covered by the DAP process (Request of Preliminary Admission process).
Applying to a French school or university (1st and 2nd year of a Master’s degree) :
The academic year usually starts in September. However, some schools may start their academic year in the second semester.
Students wishing to register for the Master’s degree at a French school or university in September must complete the necessary procedures in April. Therefore, it is important to review the universities websites on a regular basis in order to know the registration conditions and deadlines. However, students are carefully selected for the Master’s degree. Thus, the acquisition of a Bachelor’s degree does not automatically guarantee an authorization for registering in the Master’s degree.
